A Indonesia eSIM costs from $2.26 (3GB for 5 days) to $11.65 (20GB for 20 days) and runs on Smartfren, Telkomsel and XL with 5G. There's also an unlimited plan at $2.59 a day, for 3 to 90 days. Validity starts on your first connection in Indonesia, not on the day you buy, and your home number stays active for WhatsApp. You can share data over hotspot. Plans are data only; calls go through WhatsApp or other apps.

Indonesia is an archipelago of thousands of islands, and a classic trip usually means island-hopping between Bali, Lombok, and the Gili Islands by ferry or domestic flight. Not every island has easy access to a local SIM shop, and a pre-installed eSIM removes exactly that uncertainty at each stop.

How do I install an eSIM for Indonesia?

  1. Within minutes
Get a QR code by email

    Together with install instructions.

  2. About a minute
    Install before you fly

Scan the code in your phone settings, while still at home.

  3. On landing
    Land and you're online

Data comes on by itself once your phone finds a network in Indonesia.

What should I know before a trip to Indonesia?

In Indonesia the plan runs on Telkomsel with 5G, plus XL and Smartfren over 4G. Telkomsel has the widest coverage across the islands, including outside the cities.

Most rides are booked in Grab or Gojek, both cars and scooter taxis. In some parts of Bali local drivers don't allow app pickups, so you may need to walk a little way off or take a local taxi.

Are eSIM, digital SIM, and virtual SIM all the same thing?

Yes. An eSIM (also called a digital SIM or virtual SIM) is a SIM with no physical component, installed on your device by scanning a QR code instead of inserting a card. You use it exactly like a regular SIM for data abroad, without hunting for a SIM kiosk at your destination.

Does my device support eSIM technology?

Most smartphones released in the last five years support eSIM. We recommend checking your device settings, or looking up your phone model in the FlySim compatibility checker. Open the compatibility checker

How exactly does activation work?

After payment, you'll receive a unique QR code by email. Scan it in your device's cellular settings (Add eSIM), confirm, and that's it.
