This is an English translation of our Hebrew privacy policy, provided for convenience. If the two versions differ, the Hebrew version prevails.
This privacy policy explains how FlySim ("we", "FlySim") collects, uses, discloses and stores your personal information when you browse the site or buy an eSIM plan, and what rights you have regarding that information. It was written in accordance with Israel's Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, as amended by Amendment 13 (in force since August 14, 2025), and should be read together with our Terms of Use. Our guiding rule: we collect only the information needed to provide the service, and nothing beyond that.
What information we collect, and why
For each type of information we list when it is collected, for what purpose, whether you have to provide it, and who receives it. There is no legal obligation to give us any information; where it says "required", we cannot provide the requested service without it.
| Type of information | When and for what purpose | Required or optional | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address, chosen destination and plan, and a name for the receipt (if you added one) | Placing an order: processing it and sending the installation code and receipt | Email required to place the order; receipt name optional | The payment provider (on the payment page) and the email provider we send through |
| Marketing consent (date and wording) | Only if you ticked the separate box on the order form: a reminder about an unfinished order, and offers | Optional | The email provider |
| Name, email, subject and message | Contact form: answering your message | Optional (without it we can't reply) | The email provider |
| Name, company, email, phone and trip details | Business quote form: preparing a quote | Optional (without it we can't prepare a quote) | The email provider |
| Name and email of travelers entered in a business account | Business account: sending the installation code to the traveler. The business customer is responsible for letting the traveler know their details were given to us | Optional | The email provider |
| First name and last initial, review title and text | Writing a review: publishing it on the site | Optional | Published publicly on the site (without email or order details) |
| Messages you write in the chat | Automated answers to support questions | Optional | An AI service provider (Anthropic). We don't keep chat content in the site's databases |
| Your eSIM's ICCID number | Checking remaining data | Required for the check | The eSIM provider, to look up the balance. We don't store the number |
| Browser, device, truncated IP address, pages viewed | Only if you accepted analytics cookies: understanding and improving how the site is used | Optional | Google (Google Analytics) |
| IP address | Protection against abuse (request rate limiting). Kept in memory for a short time only | Collected automatically | Not shared |
We do not collect especially sensitive information (such as health, religion or origin) as a normal part of the service. If you choose to share such information yourself, for example in a support request, we will handle it with extra care and only for the purpose it was given.
Payment details are not collected or stored by us at all. Payment takes place on the secure page of the payment provider (Takbull or PayPal); card details are entered directly there and never pass through our servers.
The eSIM provider receives only the type of plan ordered, without your name, email or any other identifying detail.
Why and how we use information
- Providing the service: processing an order you placed and sending the installation code and receipt.
- Support: answering messages through the form, chat, WhatsApp and email.
- Consent: analytics cookies and marketing email. Marketing emails are sent only to people who ticked the separate box for this on the order form. The box is optional and not pre-ticked, and we keep the date and wording of the consent.
- Review request: about two days after your eSIM stops using data, we send buyers one email with a personal link to write a review.
- Legal obligation: such as keeping order and receipt records for accounting and tax purposes.
You can withdraw any consent at any time, as easily as you gave it: through "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of the page, the unsubscribe link in every marketing email, or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Who has access to your information
- Our team: limited access for authorized people who need the information to run orders and answer messages.
- Payment providers (Takbull and PayPal): process the payment under their own privacy policies.
- Email provider (Google Gmail): order emails, receipts and replies are sent through it.
- AI service provider (Anthropic): processes chat messages to write a reply.
- Google Analytics: only if you accepted analytics cookies.
- Cloud provider: the server where the site and its data are hosted.
- Competent authorities: if required by law or court order.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
Cookies and browser storage
The site has a cookie preference center with three separate categories:
- Necessary: always on, because the site needs them to work: your cart, accessibility preferences, your cookie choice itself, and a partner referral code (if you arrived through a partner's link, so the purchase is credited to them). All of these are stored only in your browser.
- Performance and analytics: Google Analytics. Loaded only if you actively accepted this category.
- Targeted advertising and social media: not currently used on the site. If we enable it in the future, no such tool will load without your explicit, separate consent.
Optional categories are off by default, and the "Accept all" and "Reject all" buttons are shown with equal weight. Your choice is kept for a year, after which we ask again. You can change it at any time through "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of every page.
How long we keep information
Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle them. Order and receipt details are kept as required for accounting and tax purposes (usually 7 years). Encrypted backups of the site's data are kept so it can be restored after a failure. When there is no longer a reason to keep information, we delete or anonymize it.
Transfers outside Israel
Some of our providers process information on servers outside Israel: Google (email and analytics), Anthropic (chat) and PayPal (payment), mainly in the United States and the European Union. These transfers are made under the Privacy Protection (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad) Regulations, 5761-2001, subject to the providers' data protection commitments, and to the extent needed to provide the service you asked for.
Information security
The site runs over HTTPS. We take reasonable measures to protect information, including sending payment details directly to the payment provider, limiting access to authorized people and logging actions in the admin interface, request rate limiting, and encrypted backups. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
- Access: receive the information we hold about you, in Hebrew, English or Arabic.
- Correction: ask us to correct or delete information that is wrong, incomplete, unclear or out of date.
- Deletion: ask us to delete information that is not subject to a legal retention duty.
- Withdrawing consent: withdraw any consent you gave, at any time.
- Opting out of direct mail: through the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every marketing email, or by contacting us. Opting out doesn't affect emails needed for an order you paid for (the installation code and receipt).
We reply to access and correction requests within 30 days of receiving them. To identify you, we will ask at most for the email address the order was placed with. If you believe your rights have been infringed, you can also contact the Privacy Protection Authority.
Minors
The service is not intended for independent use by minors under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors without the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you learn that a minor has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
