FlySim's Asia eSIM works in 20 destinations, including Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, India and China. Prices start at $11.00 for 3GB for 30 days and go up to $49.18 for 20GB for 30 days. There's also unlimited data at $7.12 per day (2GB a day at full speed). It's a data-only plan, validity starts at your first connection in a covered destination, and the QR code arrives by email within minutes of payment.
The Asia plan stays active as you move between countries, so on a route like Bangkok, Hanoi and Singapore, or Tokyo and Seoul, you don’t need a separate plan for every stop. It covers 20 destinations, from Japan and South Korea, through Southeast Asia, to India, Sri Lanka and Central Asia.
Exactly what you get
Every Asia plan comes with the same terms. The only difference between them is the amount of data and the number of days.
- 20 destinations, one eSIM
- The plan works in every destination listed below. Fly from Thailand to Vietnam and on to Japan, and your phone simply joins a local network in each one.
- 5G in most destinations
- Browse on 3G / 4G / 5G through each country's major carriers (AIS in Thailand, NTT docomo in Japan, SK Telecom in Korea, SingTel in Singapore and more). Actual speed depends on coverage where you are.
- Hotspot allowed
- Share your connection with a laptop, tablet or your partner's phone. Keep in mind that everything those devices use comes out of the same plan.
- Validity starts when you arrive
- Days count from the first network connection in a covered country, not from purchase. You can buy and install up to 180 days before your flight.
- Data only, keep your number
- The plan is internet only, with no local phone number. WhatsApp, video calls and apps work as usual, and your home SIM can stay in the phone for SMS.
- Delivered by email in minutes
- Right after payment you get a QR code with step-by-step install instructions. Scan it and you're set. No courier, no physical SIM.

The 20 destinations this plan works in
40 local mobile networks across 20 destinations. The eSIM picks the strongest one nearby on its own, with nothing to set up.
The plan covers East Asia (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Macau), Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent and three Central Asian countries.
What should I know before a trip to Asia?
In each country your phone connects to a local network: AIS and TrueMove H in Thailand, NTT docomo, KDDI/au and Rakuten Mobile in Japan, SK Telecom in South Korea, SingTel and StarHub in Singapore, Airtel and Jio in India, China Mobile and China Unicom in China, Chunghwa and FarEasTone in Taiwan.
When you fly between countries, your phone joins the new country’s network shortly after landing. If the connection doesn’t come back within a few minutes, toggling airplane mode off and on usually does the trick.
How it works
- Pick a plan and pay
Secure checkout. Your QR code arrives by email within minutes.
- Install at home, before you fly
Scan the QR in your phone settings. Takes about 2 minutes and needs Wi-Fi.
- Land and turn on roaming
Select the FlySim eSIM for mobile data and turn on data roaming. That's it, you're online.
- Flying to the next country? Do nothing
After landing, your phone switches to the new country's network on its own. Sometimes it takes a few minutes.
Good to know before you buy
- You need an eSIM-capable phone that isn't locked to a specific carrier. Most iPhones from the XS onward and most recent flagship Android phones are supported.
- Traffic is routed through a server in the UK or Norway, so some sites and apps (Google or streaming services, for example) may show content as if you were in the UK or Norway. It doesn't affect WhatsApp, maps or normal browsing.
- Most destinations have 5G, but in some the plan's networks are slower: 4G in Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Macau, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam; 3G in Laos. That's enough for WhatsApp, maps and social media, less so for HD streaming.
- Run out of data mid-trip? You can buy another plan from this page at any time and install it within minutes.
- Unused data doesn't carry over to another plan and isn't refunded when the validity ends.
Asia plan FAQ
Have a question? Message us in the chat in the corner of the screen, or reach out through our contact form
Which countries does the Asia plan cover?
The plan works in 20 destinations: Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. Cambodia, Nepal, the Maldives, Myanmar and Mongolia are not included.
Should I buy the Asia plan or a single-country plan?
For a trip to one country, a dedicated country plan is cheaper. The Asia plan is meant for routes through several countries: one eSIM that keeps working at every stop, without buying and installing a new plan each time.
What happens when I fly to another country?
Nothing on your end. The same eSIM keeps working, and after landing your phone joins a local network in the new country automatically. Make sure data roaming is on. If the connection doesn't return within a few minutes, toggle airplane mode off and on.
When does the plan's validity start?
Validity starts at the first network connection in a covered destination, not on the day you buy. You can buy and install the eSIM up to 180 days in advance. Since Israel isn't covered, installing at home doesn't start the clock.
Does the plan include a phone number and calls?
No. It's a data-only plan. WhatsApp calls, FaceTime and other apps work as usual over data. Your home SIM can stay in the phone to receive SMS (bank verification codes, for example); turn off roaming on it to avoid charges from your home carrier.
Can I share the connection with a laptop or another phone?
Yes, hotspot is allowed on the Asia plan. Everything the connected devices use comes out of the same data, so if you plan to work from a laptop, pick a larger plan.
What if I run out of data mid-trip?
Buy another plan from this page. The new QR arrives by email within minutes and can be installed abroad too (you'll need Wi-Fi, e.g. at the hotel). You can check your remaining data any time on the usage check page.
How do I know my phone supports eSIM?
On iPhone: Settings → Cellular. If you see "Add eSIM", your phone supports it. On Android, search for "eSIM" in settings. The phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked, which is the case for most phones bought in Israel.
